Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness has named this current Manchester City team the best ever group of players in English footballing history.
Pep Guardiola's men currently sit 11 points clear at the top of the table, coming off the back of winning the Premier League last season, while also making it to the Champions League final.
It's been an incredible era for the Spaniard since he joined the club from Bayern Munich in 2016, winning three league titles, four League Cup's and an FA Cup.
And City look like they're on their in a good spot to secure their second back-to-back title winning seasons under Guardiola.
Prior to kick-off against Southampton, Souness heaped praise on the team, stating that they are the best he's ever seen.
He said: "They’re just so good. I think this is the best group of players I’ve ever known in the top league of English football.
"I think the insurance policy they have going forward, they have like for like in every position when making a substitute other than maybe three positions.
"The goalkeeper, De Bruyne and maybe Bernardo Silva comes into that category now.
"They have got such a strong squad that the manager can rotate it and if someone’s not quite at it, you sit down this weekend, I’m not happy with you."
Still well in the hunt to complete the treble this season, City will face Fulham in the FA Cup following a week off after facing Southampton on Saturday afternoon.
It'll be a busy month for the Citizens, as they'll also face Sporting CP in the Champions League, as well as coming up against Tottenham, Norwich, Brentford and Everton.
