Graeme Souness makes 'super dangerous' claim about Liverpool's Luis Diaz

Graeme Souness has outlined the impact that Luis Diaz since his January move from Porto.

The Colombian winger has made an instant impact since joining The Reds from Porto at the end of January, scoring one goal in seven appearances for Jurgen Klopp's side.

He's given Liverpool another option in their attack, fitting in nicely so far with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane - and he impressed against against West Ham on Saturday evening.

The 25-year-old already has a winners' medal in his possession after shining in Liverpool's dramatic Carabao Cup Final triumph over Chelsea last weekend.

And Souness has stated that Diaz' signing has clearly given the players around him a boost - and explains why he's a perfect player for Klopp's team.

Souness said: "He’ll of given everyone a lift. He’s a player that if you’re a supporter he gets you on the edge of your seat. He’s direct, he’s quick, he’s aggressive.

"He does that thing which crowds love; he loses the ball, sprints back and puts a tackle in to win it back. He goes past people for fun.

"He’s quick, he’s direct - there’s a lot to like about him and this system will suit him perfectly.

"He’s just another absolute threat that Liverpool have. Defenders don’t like to play against people who can go past you with either pace or drop of the shoulder and it looks like he’s got both.

"Super dangerous. A real asset to Liverpool."

Luis Diaz cost Liverpool £49 million, after joining late in the January transfer window. The attacker was said to be a target for the Reds ahead of the summer, but Liverpool's hands were forced when Tottenham came in with a bid.
