Erling Haaland would find settling into the Premier League easier with Liverpool then Manchester City, according to Graeme Souness.
The former Liverpool captain has spoken about Pep Guardiola's marque signing in his latest video for Sky Bet, where the panel discuss that forthcoming season. City brought Haaland to England from Borussia Dortumund for £51.2million after the Norwegian international plundered 86 goals in 89 matches for the Bundesliga club over three seasons.
But Souness, who played in Italy with Sampdoria after a trophy-laden seven-year spell with the Reds, is off the opinion that 21-year-old Haaland has attributes that suit Jurgen Klopp's side more naturally than those of City.

Speaking on the latest Sky Bet video, alongside Roy Keane and Micah Richards, Souness said: "That might be an issue. Listen, if you’re a striker you want two things. You want it as quick as possible and you want it as accurate as possible. You know, City, and it’s no criticism of City, but I prefer watching Liverpool - as you’d expect me to say - because Liverpool they won it back, it’s a pass forward and generally a shot on goal. Whereas City is a more predictable build-up, but Haaland wants to be in a team that wins it back and plays it forward quickly. I don’t think it’s a complete given he goes there, the kind of goalscorer he was in the Bundesliga."
Former City defender Richards held a more positive view on Haaland. He said: "People talk - he’s only good in transition - but that’s only because he needed to because of how Dortmund play. Man City keep the ball, he’s got good movement around the ball."
Liverpool responded quickly to City's signing of Haaland by capturing a new centre forward of their own in the form of Benfica's Darwin Nunez. Despite adding Haaland to a squad already bursting with talent, however, Richards was not prepare to accept that the Sky Blues would be unbeatable next season.
He added: "No, I wouldn’t say unbeatable. You never know, new signings (Julian) Alvarez and (Erling) Haaland have got to come and fit in to City’s team but it makes them stronger for sure."
