Graeme Souness has slammed Jorginho for his "pathetic" penalty in the closing stages of Chelsea's 1-0 win against West Ham United on Sunday afternoon. The Italian saw his spot-kick easily saved by Lucasz Fabianski and it looked as if it was going to be costly.
However, his Blues colleague Christian Pulisic massively bailed him out with a winner in the 90th minute, just moments after Jorginho's embarrassing penalty miss. The American forward turned home Marcos Alonso's low cross from the left-hand side to give Chelsea maximum points.
Jorginho could have proved to be the villain to Chelsea fans if it wasn't for Pulisic's heroics. Souness, when speaking in the Sky Sports studio after the game, labelled the effort as "pathetic".

Asked what he thought about the spot-kick, Souness responded: "Pathetic. It bounces before it gets to the goalkeeper. That’s an example of how you don’t take a penalty."
Jorginho's unorthodox penalty technique certainly has its advantages, but when the Chelsea midfielder does see his spot-kicks saved, he can be left red-faced. Thomas Tuchel was asked about the missed penalty after the game, but refused to lay any blame on his midfielder.
"It works for us normally to 100%," the Blues head coach said. "It was never necessary to change. It can happen. Hopefully it is an unusual thing. He is disappointed but happy we could turn it around." Tuchel was also asked about the rather lacklustre attacking performance from his side. "It seemed a bit stuck... we knew it," he added.
"It can feel like this against West Ham who defend with a lot of bodies and discipline. We have to wait for the moments. We had some accelerations with Mason [Mount] from midfield but nobody was joining. It felt stuck.
"We controlled it but could not find spaces. It was also not the moment to take every risk after our recent results. We wanted to control their counter-attacks. The red card maybe opened more space to allow the late answer."
