The National Health Security Office (NHSO) has decided to revoke its contracts with nine private hospitals in Bangkok because they allegedly filed false claims for reimbursements for their services under the universal healthcare scheme.
The recocation will take effect on Oct 1.
NHSO spokesman Athaporn Limpanylers said the nine hospitals are Mahesak, Bang Na General 1, Prachapat, Navaminthra, Petcharavej, Kluaynamthai 2, Phaetpanya, Bangmod and Kluaynamthai.
Dr Athaporn said the NHSO board and a sub-committee in charge of the universal healthcare scheme in Bangkok resolved to file a police complaint against the nine hospitals, revoke the contracts for them to provide healthcare services under the scheme and recall the money which had been paid to them.
The resolution was made after a fact-finding committee found solid evidence that the nine hospitals had made false requests for reimbursements for the costs of comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP) tests.
"The NHSO has prepared measures to help people who may be affected by the revocation of the contracts. So people who have registered for services from the nine hospitals need not worry," Dr Athaporn said.
