Governor Pritzker Expresses Concern Over Presidential Race Uncertainty

APEC Summit in San Francisco

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, a Democrat, was recently caught on a hot mic expressing his worries about the state of the presidential race. At a crime fighting event, Pritzker was overheard sharing his dissatisfaction with President Biden's campaign performance following the debate against former President Trump.

In a private conversation, Pritzker was heard saying, 'You gotta do what we have to do. I don’t like where we are.' He added, 'We’re just going to keep fighting. I don’t know what to say.'

When reached for comment, Pritzker's deputy chief of communications mentioned that the governor's remarks seemed to be related to the state of the presidential race. However, there was no immediate response from the governor's office to confirm if Pritzker was specifically referring to the Democrat Party's situation with Biden as the presidential nominee.

No confirmation if Pritzker's remarks were about Biden specifically.

Growing uncertainty within the Democratic Party about Biden's chances.

Amid growing uncertainty within the party about Biden's chances in the upcoming election, various Democratic lawmakers, liberal pundits, and even prominent Hollywood donors have called for Biden to step down. Notable figures like George Clooney and Michael Douglas have expressed concerns about Biden's ability to win in November.

Despite the mounting pressure, Governor Pritzker has stood by President Biden, affirming his support for the nominee. While acknowledging Biden's poor debate performance, Pritzker offered advice to the president's team on how to regain support and address the aftermath of the debate.

'I think obviously the President had a bad performance in the debate,' Pritzker stated. 'That doesn’t help anybody. He knows that, and what you have to do is stand up, say, ‘I didn’t do it well,’ which I think he said, and prove people wrong about what they want to say about it. And he’s doing that.'
