Governor Lujan Grisham Discusses Harris-Trump Poll Numbers

Donald Trump looks Confident.

Joining us now here in the Situation Room, a key member of the Harris Walls National Advisory Board, the New Mexico governor Michelle Lujan Grisham discussed the current state of the presidential election. The polls show a tight race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, with both candidates polling at 49% to 48%, well within the margin of error.

Governor Grisham emphasized the importance of the upcoming debate for Harris to solidify her position. She highlighted Harris's track record of being well-prepared, thoughtful, and effective in her leadership. Grisham noted that Harris has been actively engaging with voters, focusing on economic policies that uplift the middle class.

Despite the Harris campaign painting Trump's policies as extreme, a recent poll from the New York Times revealed that more voters perceive Harris as too liberal compared to Trump being seen as too conservative. Grisham expressed bewilderment at Trump being viewed as a moderate candidate, citing his history of lies and extreme behavior.

Grisham underscored the need for Harris to fact-check Trump during the debate, given his propensity for falsehoods. She emphasized the importance of holding Trump accountable for his actions and statements, especially regarding threats to jail political opponents and election officials if he wins the presidency.

In response to Trump's authoritarian tendencies, Grisham condemned his actions as dictatorial and emphasized the need to prevent his return to the White House. She called for a focus on policy discussions and holding Trump accountable for his actions.

As the debate approaches, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham expressed confidence in Harris's ability to present a clear, consistent message that resonates with voters. She reiterated the importance of addressing Trump's threats and lies while emphasizing the need to move the country forward.
