Governor DeSantis takes a strong stance against woke-ism in Iowa

DeSantis stands against woke-ism & injections of certain values in schools.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a Republican presidential candidate, recently wrapped up a town hall in Edgewood, Iowa, where he discussed various issues and shared his vision for the country. In a lively and creative interview, Governor DeSantis addressed his stance against woke-ism and his concerns about certain values being imposed on customers by companies like Disney. He emphasized the need to protect children from inappropriate content in elementary school curriculum. Governor DeSantis also highlighted the importance of businesses focusing on their core mission rather than trying to change national policies, expressing his opposition to the use of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria in pension funds.

When asked about his chances of winning the Iowa caucus, Governor DeSantis expressed confidence in his ability to upset former President Donald Trump by emphasizing his track record as governor of Florida. He mentioned paying down 25 percent of the state's debt, Florida's number one ranking for new business formation, and its top-ranked economy in the CNBC rankings. While trailing behind Trump in the polls, Governor DeSantis dismissed the significance of these numbers, citing the unique nature of caucuses and how polling has historically failed to accurately predict their outcomes.

Governor DeSantis also criticized the recent decision by a Maine official to remove Donald Trump from the state's ballot, calling it an inappropriate interpretation of the 14th Amendment. He likened the move to potential backlash that could lead to striking President Biden off the ballot in Florida for allowing an influx of illegal immigrants. He predicted that the U.S. Supreme Court would reverse the decision.

Regarding the recent controversy surrounding former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley's comments about the cause of the Civil War, Governor DeSantis described her clarification as an 'incomprehensible word salad' and suggested that she lacks core convictions. He emphasized his own deep commitment to the enduring principles of the United States' constitutional system and called for a rejection of postmodernism.

When asked about potential pressure to bow out of the race if he doesn't finish second in Iowa, Governor DeSantis expressed determination to stay in the race for the long haul. He dismissed concerns about other candidates dropping out, stating that it was their decision to make. However, he took a dig at Haley, highlighting her ambiguous stance on being vice president while receiving support from Never-Trumpers.

Overall, Governor Ron DeSantis presented himself as a strong and principled candidate, focused on protecting conservative values, promoting economic growth, and leading the nation in a different direction.
