Governor, CM express grief over fire accident in chemical factory in Eluru district

Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan on Thursday expressed anguish over the fire accident at Porus Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., a chemical factory at Akkireddigudem in Eluru district, late on Wednesday night in which six workers had lost their lives and 13 others were injured.

The officials informed the Governor that the injured were shifted to a hospital in Vijayawada for better treatment.

The Governor expressed profound grief over the loss of lives and offered his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed grief over the accident and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.

Ex gratia announced

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy announced an ex gratia of ₹25 lakh to the next of kin of the workers who died. He also announced ₹5 lakh ex gratia to the grievously injured, and ₹2 lakh to those who suffered minor injuries.
