Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz recently made a statement at a Puerto Rican restaurant in Erie, Pennsylvania, addressing a derogatory comment made about Puerto Rico at a former President Donald Trump’s rally in New York City. The comment referred to Puerto Rico as an 'island of garbage,' which Walz described as unnecessary and dangerous.

Speaking to a small group of individuals at Vilma’s Kitchen, Walz emphasized the disrespect shown towards the citizens of Puerto Rico and highlighted the hurtful nature of such remarks, especially in the current social climate. He contrasted this negativity with Vice President Kamala Harris’ message of optimism.
