Gourock woman 'bids on a break' and gets Costa Brava holiday for under £5

A Gourock woman participated in Jet2 Holiday's 'bid on a break' and managed to secure a week long holiday in Costa Brava for under £5.

Karen O'Donnell found out that she had entered the lowest unique bid, and so had bagged a bargain seven night holiday to a four-star holiday in Lloret de Mar in the Costa Brava for just £4.94.

The campaign is run on the tour operator's mobile app, and allows customers to bid on holidays, with the lowest unique bid securing the holiday. There is a new holiday released to bid on each week.

Karen said: “I downloaded the Jet2 app after booking a recent holiday – it was a great tool for information whilst I was away – and I’ve been entering the competition every week since June.

"My bids have always been quite close to the amounts bid by previous successful bidders, so I’m over the moon to secure a holiday for myself!”

Unsuccessful bidders receive a consolation prize, in the form of a voucher for £60 off their next Jet2 holiday.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “Congratulations to Karen for successfully bidding for a holiday with Jet2holidays through our ‘Bid for a Break’ campaign. With summer in full swing, we know how much UK holidaymakers want to get away to enjoy some much-needed sunshine, and we are giving them the chance to do just that in a fun way for potentially only a few pence.

"With some fantastic holidays available to bid on each week, make sure you get involved and have a bid in mind for next week’s holiday. We wish Karen a lovely holiday in the Costa Brava!”
