'Got away with one' - Beale 'concerned' despite Rangers win

Michael Beale was left "concerned" by Rangers' performance despite earning a win over Motherwell.

The Ibrox boss was less than impressed by his side in the narrow 1-0 win.

And he even admitted Rangers "got away with one" as he bemoaned a performance that earned boos at the full-time whistle.

"We started really poor with lots of individual errors," Beale told BBC Sportsound.

"I thought we scored a good goal. After it, the injury to Rabbi [Matondo], but already we weren't playing well in the game.

"Our decision-making was really poor and I think we got away with one today."

Cyriel Dessers scored the only goal for Rangers in the first half with Rangers holding onto the lead despite some late scares from the visitors.

And Beale admitted his side might have suffered something of a European hangover after their battling win over Real Betis on Thursday night.

He added: "The schedule is heavy.  You ask any player, they'll say they want that. Thursday took a lot out of us and you could see that today. There were lots of lazy decisions.

"When we want to the back-three, it enabled us to take control. The positives are the clean sheet and the win.

"They say it's a good sign when you win when you're not playing well. I'm not taking much comfort from that. That performance concerned me."

Ahead of the match, Beale had confirmed an injury setback for Tom Lawrence. He said: "Tom Lawrence came off with what he thought was cramp but when he came in the next morning it was more than that. So he's away having a scan and he'll probably miss the next couple of games to the international break which is disappointing because he is such a big player."
