Osimhen claim

Chris Wood has already arrived on Tyneside, but Newcastle continue to be linked with a host of striker targets across the continent.

The latest of these is Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, with Italian outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport claiming the Magpies are now interested in the Nigerian international having failed in an ambitious swoop for Dusan Vlahovic.

The 23-year-old has registered nine goals in 16 appearances despite a number of injuries, and the report has raised the prospect of a summer sale.

However, the title add Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis will likely not consider any offers below £55m.

Sule admission

Niklas Sule is among the more high-profile defensive targets linked with St James' Park in recent months, with the German international's deal at Bayern Munich expiring in the summer.

Barcelona and Chelsea have also been tipped to make a move for the 26-year-old, and Bayern legend and chairman Oliver Kahn has confirmed the centre-back will leave the club at the end of his contract.

He said: "We made him an offer, which he told us he didn't accept. He wants to leave the club at the end of the season."
