Gorka Marquez shares sweet moment daughter discovers he made it through to another week on BBC Strictly Come Dancing

Despite knowing the news himself for almost 24 hours, it appears Gorka Marquez didn't let slip the Strictly Come Dancing results to his young daughter. Following his latest stint on the BBC One show alongside celebrity partner Helen Skelton, the dancer returned home to Greater Manchester to spend some quality time with Mia and his fiancee Gemma Atkinson.

On Saturday night, Gorka impressed as John Travolta with Countryfile host Helen as his Sandy as they performed a spellbinding Viennese Waltz to Hopelessly Devoted To You by the late Olivia Newton-John from the iconic film Grease.

Gorka's proud partner Gemma Atkinson shared an adorable video of daughter Mia watching her 'Papa' perform in the third live show. Former Emmerdale and Hollyoaks actress Gemma, who competed in the 2017 series where she met her fiance, cheered them on by sharing a snap of them in costume on her Instagram, saying "Good luck Sandy and Danny."

And after their latest dance during the dance contest's first special of the series, the pair were applauded by the judges and scored an impressive 31 points out of a possible 40 for their dreamy routine which they said paid tribute to Olivia, famed for playing Sandy, following her death last month.

But on Sunday night there were gasps from fans when Fleur East and her professional partner Vito Coppola found themselves in the dreaded dance-off alongside Richie Anderson and his Strictly partner Giovanni Pernice. Both had to perform again before the judges made their final vote.

Despite the results show being recorded following Saturday night's live show, and therefore knowing the results himself, Gorka, 34, didn't let three-year-old Mia in on the news that he and Helen, 39, had safely made it through to week four of the 20th series.

Taking to Instagram, the Spanish dancer, who has made Greater Manchester his home with Gemma and Mia, shared a sweet video he filmed as his wife-to-be and their daughter settled down to watch the results show. The youngster could be seen on her mum's lap before nervously moving about as Tess Daly called each couple one by one.

He caught the moment EastEnders star James Bye and his professional partner Amy Dowden made it through with Gemma, 37, and Mia both cheering. "Yay, Amy's through," Gemma happily said. "We need Papa now don't we?" she then commented.

"Cross your fingers. Come on Papa and Helen," the former Hollyoaks and Emmerdale star continued to encourage before Mia told her: "They have to wait their turn!" But just as she said it, her daddy's name was called out alongside mum-of-three Helen's.

Gemma and Mia both threw their arms in the air and cheered 'yes' before embracing in an excitable hug. "Papa's back next week," Gemma said leading to Mia screaming and cuddling into her laughing mum even tighter. Gorka simply shared the video with a string of heart and love-heart eye emojis.

It comes after Gemma shared a video on Sunday morning showing Mia mesmerised as she watched her daddy perform, saying with a crying-laughing emoji: "We're on take 246." Helen also shared the post and wrote: "The main judges for us.... @gorka_marquez @glouiseatkinson," alongside a string of red heart emojis.
