Popular city centre music venue and bar Gorilla say they WILL reopen after a sudden 'temporary closure' has seen them out of action for months.
In a statement on Twitter, the gig spot confirmed they were having 'essential building work' done but would be staying at their Whitworth Street home.
The venue closed suddenly in April after cancelling a number of gigs at short notice. In the statement, the venue said their landlords - Network Rail - were carrying out essential building works, but that the venue would be staying in place.
"We are so excited to continue having the best gigs, with the best bands and by far the best fans for a very long time," they said on social media.
"We get that we've been quiet the last couple of months and moving the gigs that we have has been sad, but we are so thankful to all our music industry friends for supporting us while we have been unexpectedly closed.
"Keep an eye out for some exciting news and big parties, see ya soon!"
It follows a similar closure last summer, when its landlords, Network Rail, forced it to shut its doors for six weeks while ‘essential works’ were carried out.
It is not yet clear exactly when the venue will reopen.
