A West Derby venue has claimed the coveted title of Liverpool's number one restaurant.
Liverpool and its surrounding areas boast a medley of impressive cafes and restaurants, with a vast array of cuisines from all over the world available to enjoy - but a little bistro is currently the cream of the crop.
Blackdoor Bar and Bistro is an independent family run restaurant based in West Derby Village. It offers a range of dishes, including breakfasts, lunch and dinner options, as well as a mix of desserts. It's best known and loved for its breakfasts and burgers.

Out of 1,351 restaurants ranked on Tripadvisor, it's now number one, beating Rudy's on Albert Dock which claimed the top spot just one month after opening. Reviews of Blackdoor praise its "gorgeous food" and "excellent staff" with one Tripadvisor user branding it a "must visit".
It opened its doors just over a year ago after owner Joe Worrall, 34, packed in his job as a painter and decorator in favour of a new profession and passion project.
Blackdoor Bar & Bistro is also the only Liverpool takeaway in the finals of the Just Eat Takeaway Awards. The awards aim to recognise and celebrate takeaways up and down the country, splitting the UK into 12 regions, all competing to win the top prize of £5,000 cash.
For restaurants and takeaways to be in with a chance of being crowned, they first need to win in their region. If Blackdoor Bar & Bistro wins, the family behind the venue have confirmed they’ll be donating their cash prize to Zoe's Place Children's Hospice, which provides a short break service, palliative, and end-of-life care to babies and infants.
For Joe Worrall and his fiancée Sian Carberry, owners of Blackdoor Bar & Bistro, giving back to the community is of utmost importance. Joe told the ECHO: "We want to be a successful small independent family business but we also want to help the community and give back. It means the world to us to be number one on Tripadvisor.
"My phone flashed up saying 'Tripadvisor alert' last night on the Tripadvisor app and when I clicked on it, it said 'you are [the] number one restaurant in Liverpool'. I was completely overwhelmed and feel like it's a reward for all the time and effort I have put in to making this a success - especially in the current climate with what the Tories are doing to our country."
