Michelin-starred celebrity chef, TV personality, writer and “Hell’s Kitchen” commander-in-chief Gordon Ramsay made it official Thursday: he’s opening a restaurant in Chicago.
Ramsay will open Gordon Ramsay Burger in late 2021 or early 2022 in a 5,000-square-foot space at State and Ontario (the former site of Wahlburgers). It will be the second location for his tony eponymous eatery; the original is ensconced in the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, a city that is home to five Ramsay eateries.
“The Windy City is getting my butter-based burgers that so many of you have come to enjoy in Las Vegas,” Ramsay proclaimed in an Instagram post Thursday announcing the news, “... and one of the most beautifully designed burger restaurants anywhere in the U.S.”
To date, Ramsay’s worldwide restaurant group boasts seven Michelin stars; his flagship Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London has held three Michelin-stars for more than 19 years.
Ramsay can currently be seen on the hit Fox series “MasterChef” and National Geographic Channels’ “Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted.”
