Gordon Ramsay reveals kitchen habit which leaves his wife Tana furious

Gordon Ramsay has revealed he makes extravagant meals for his six-year-old son - and that it doesn’t make his wife happy.

The chef, 58, is married to wife Tana, and they share six kids - Megan, 26, Holly, 25, Jack, 25, Tilly, 23, Oscar, six and baby Jesse.

And it sounds like meal times in their house are extremely fancy.

“I will do sausage and mash with baked beans and make it look like a f*****g three-star Michelin sausage, mash and baked beans,” the chef said on The Savoy Originals podcast, which was recorded last year.

“And I’ll put the beans on one at a time, and I’ll finish them, make f*****g mashed potatoes like [French chef] Robuchon did, with 70 per cent butter.

“And then Tana will kick me up the arse and say, ‘What in the f*** are you doing? Our son is five years of age and you’re f*****g around with these sausages. Stop it’. So, yeah, I get a little bit carried away.”

Ramsay - who has 34 restaurants in the UK - also revealed that he’s only eaten at one his restaurants twice within the past 25 years, as he thinks it’s too posh.

“Once was for Megan's birthday and the second time was with Bradley Cooper,” he said.

“Because it's not my style - it's too posh for me! It sounds weird right, you build the f***ing place. I can't sit there.”

Earlier this week, police officers descended on Gordon Ramsay’s Los Angeles home after a hoax 911 call falsely reported a gunman opening fire at the celebrity chef’s property.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed it responded to the call at 8.40pm on Tuesday after an unidentified person claimed there was an active shooter at Ramsay’s Bel Air mansion.

But when officers arrived, they found no signs of a disturbance.

According to TMZ, neighbours also reported that nothing unusual had occurred at the house.

Ramsay wasn’t at the property during the incident and is believed to be the latest high-profile victim of “swatting” - a dangerous prank where emergency services are tricked into sending armed units to someone’s address under false pretences.

The LAPD has launched an investigation, but no arrests have been made so far.

The Standard contacted Gordon Ramsay’s rep for comment at the time.
