Gordon Ramsay has heaped praise on the Newcastle restaurant that served him, what he described as 'the best curry of his life.'
There was a lot of excitement in the city last year when the world renowned chef visited Tyneside to film a 'top secret' project, the details of which were kept firmly under wraps. However, while he remained tight lipped on what he was filming, Gordon has spoken about just how amazing some of the food was that he tried while he was visiting.
The staff of Khai Khai, which opened in 2021, were quick to share their excitement that Gordon had unexpectedly called in for a meal; sharing a photo of him and staff members on their social media channels. And they will be delighted to learn that the Hell's Kitchen star has gone on the record to say the curry he had that night - the Old Delhi Butter Chicken - is the best he's ever had.

Speaking as his new show Next Level Chef aired, The Sun reports that Gordon said: "It was a beautiful Indian restaurant, Khai Khai. We turned up at 6pm thinking we could get an early table and it was packed.
“I had one of the best curries in my entire life, that took me back to being in Mumbai and Rajasthan.”
During his time on Tyneside, Gordon also popped just over the river to By The River Brew, where he tucked into some sushi from Veganatomy.
Heapiing praise on that, he added: "The following day I went over to an area with all these little pop-up kitchens next to that beautiful bridge over the Tyne.
“I had this vegan sushi and I had to just stop and look at the Tyne and remember where I was! This is f***** unreal. I am in Newcastle!"
