Vice President JD Vance recently oversaw the swearing-in of GOP Sens. Ashley Moody of Florida and John Husted of Ohio, effectively restoring the body to its full membership.
Ashley Moody, the former Florida attorney general, assumed her position after being appointed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. This appointment followed the selection of former Sen. Marco Rubio as Secretary of State under the Trump administration. Rubio, after voting for his own confirmation the previous night, promptly resigned from his seat. Sen. Rick Scott, also from Florida, accompanied Moody as she took her oath of office.

John Husted, the former Ohio lieutenant governor, was chosen by Governor Mike DeWine to fill Vance's vacant seat. Sen. Bernie Moreno and Governor DeWine were present to support Husted as he was sworn in.
These recent developments mark significant changes within the Senate, with Moody and Husted stepping into their new roles with the support of their respective state leaders. The Senate now stands at full capacity, ready to tackle the important issues facing the nation.
