GOP House Oversight Committee Subpoenas White House Aides For Depositions

House Oversight Committee holds hearing on Capitol Hill, in Washington

The House Oversight Committee, led by the GOP, has issued subpoenas to three White House aides for depositions later this month. The purpose of these depositions is to discuss President Joe Biden's health, as confirmed by the committee.

The subpoenas were directed towards Anthony Bernal, Annie Tomasini, and Ashley Williams, as stated in a recent news release.

This move by the Republicans is part of their ongoing efforts to delve into the mental acuity of the president. The issue gained prominence following Biden's widely criticized debate performance, which has caused distress among Democrats.

In addition to the subpoenas, Republicans have also sought an interview with Biden's doctor, Kevin O'Connor. Furthermore, they are pushing to obtain audio recordings of the president's conversations with former special counsel Robert Hur.
