The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) Chairman, Richard Hudson, expressed confidence in the GOP's ability to maintain their majority throughout President Donald Trump's term. Hudson highlighted the progress made in the 2024 elections, where Republicans gained support from Hispanic and Black voters.
Hudson emphasized the party's efforts to reach out to minority communities, stating, 'We want your votes, and we want to represent you, and we care about the issues that matter to you and your family.' He acknowledged the importance of addressing issues such as crime, education, border security, and cost of living to resonate with voters.
Regarding Hispanic and Latino voters, Hudson noted that 42% supported Trump in the previous election, attributing this to the party's focus on addressing their concerns. He credited Trump's policies for resonating with voters and expressed optimism for the upcoming 2026 midterm elections.

Despite historical trends suggesting a potential shift in power during a new president's first midterm, Hudson pointed out the unique circumstances of the current political landscape. He highlighted the contrast between Trump's policies and those of President Joe Biden, emphasizing the American people's preference for Trump's agenda.
Hudson also highlighted the favorable electoral battleground for Republicans in 2026, with Democrats defending more vulnerable seats compared to the GOP. He outlined the party's strategy of being 'on offense' and holding Democrats accountable for their opposition to popular policies.
The NRCC Chairman's remarks were made during a Republican retreat at the Trump National Doral golf course in South Florida, where party members gathered to strategize for the upcoming elections. Hudson's message to colleagues was clear: 'We're going to lean in and capitalize on the opportunities in the upcoming cycle.'
