Gogglebox has become a firm Friday night favourite. The Channel 4 show airs at 9pm each week as viewers settle in to watch armchair critics react to all the latest TV programmes, from The Eurovision Song Contest to Beat the Chasers.
However, cast members have shared some disappointing news with fans. In a recent update Tom and Julie Malone, who appear on the show alongside son Sean and sometimes daughter Vanessa, revealed this week's instalment is the last one in the series.
The pair confirmed they were filming the final episode in a video posted to their joint Instagram page. Tom told the camera: "We're getting near the end of the series now. Julie is throwing out these big words. I said it's the second to last night, Julie is saying what?"

Julie responded: "It's the penultimate night." Responding to the sad news, one viewer wrote: "No I can't believe it's nearly the end of the series. Friday night is Gogglebox night."
While another commented: "Hate it when Gogglebox is no longer on on a Friday night."
And a third added: "Oh no, will have to make the most of you all and keep watching the re-runs.!
The Malones' fellow Gogglebox stars Abbie Lynn and Georgia Bell also confirmed they were finishing up filming on the hit show, reports Manchester Evening News. Sharing a boomerang of the pair to her Instagram Story, Abbie said: "Last one of the series let's goooo." For more showbiz and television stories, get our newsletter here.
