A warning has been issued to anyone with an Android phone after Google discovered malware in an application.
Phone users are being advised to uninstall the Punduoduo app after Google found malware in some versions of the app that were not downloaded from the Play store.
Pinduoduo is a Chinese budget shopping app that allows people to save money by enlisting friends to buy the same item in bulk. According to the Mirror, the makers of Pinduodu confirmed that its app had been suspended from the Play Store as its version is “not compliant with Google’s Policy.”

A spokesperson said: "We are communicating with Google for more information. We have been told that there are several other apps that have been suspended as well.
"We strongly reject the speculation and accusation that the Pinduoduo app is malicious just from a generic and non-conclusive response from Google."
A Google spokesperson said: "We have suspended the Play version of the app for security concerns while we continue our investigation."
