Google's new search Playground game is like Where's Wally meets Taylor Swift

Google has challenged its users to a Where’s Wally-style game to reveal its biggest search trends of the year with Taylor Swift and Pikachu both featuring.

Cristiano Ronaldo and BTS are also among the 25 people or items to find in the game which has been enthralling users on Tuesday

The Most Searched Playground gives clues to the user and then the opportunity to click on the entity and learn more. But it is a tough concept with hundreds of objects and people concealing the right answers.

Google has said it has launched the game to celebrate 25 years of web searches and the grid features some of the top results from over the quarter century.

“This year, we’re celebrating the most searched figures and moments in 25 years of Google Search,” a statement read.

“From some of the world’s most iconic performances, to history-making breakthroughs, see the moments that have changed the world and inspired the next generation to come.”

Taylor Swift features in the game as an answer (Google)

Popstress Swift featured as the “most searched songwriter” while Ronaldo was onboard as the “most searched athlete”. It also found that Spider-Man was the most searched superhero and that Beyonce’s performance at Coachella was the most seen concert. There are also said to be further Easter eggs unique to Swift, who is known for setting trails to her fans. She has also recently been named the most listened to artist for 2023 on Spotify.

And it seems users are loving it. One person posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: “This wallpaper of yours is beautiful. I appreciate this.”

Another added: “That's too much to say now.”

Already, Google has announced its biggest search trends of the year with Chat GPT and other artificial intelligence tools coming top in the UK.

Outside of AI, Google’s search roundup also revealed the shows, games, and films we were all hooked on this year.

With Barbieheimer lighting up the box office, it was no surprise to see Barbie and Oppenheimer topping the film chart. Elsewhere, Happy Valley triumphed over The Last of Us in the TV shows category in the UK.
