The design of Google's forthcoming Pixel 4 smartphone has been revealed in leaked renders, and it looks more than a little familiar.
The renders, shared by reputed leaker OnLeaks together with iGeeksBlog , show a 5.6-inch handset with a large square rear camera module.
This looks remarkably similar to the camera module on Apple's rumoured iPhone 11 lineup .
However, while Apple's flagship phones - the iPhone 11 and 11 Max - are rumoured to have a triple-lens camera system, the Pixel 4 only has a dual-lens rear camera.
As well as the two lenses, the Pixel 4's camera module houses a 'Time-of-Flight' 3D sensor for creating depth effects, and an LED flash, according to iGeeksBlog.
The Pixel 4 renders also reveal a thick bezel along the top of the display, replacing the Pixel 3's much-maligned "notch" .
Two camera lenses are visible in the top left corner, one for portrait selfie and one for facial recognition - which is expected to replace fingerprint recognition on the Pixel 4.
iGeeksBlog admits it is "still a mystery what Google wants to place on that ample blank space at the right side of the forehead".
Last weekend, prominent leaker Ice Universe posted images of screen protector designs for the Pixel 4, showing a mysterious pill-shaped opening in the top right corner.
It has been suggested that the opening will probably house Google's "Project Soli" radar sensors , which are expected to debut of the Pixel 4 and allow new gesture-based controls.
The camera is one of the significant attractions of Pixel devices - in particular Night Sight, mode, which lets users capture stunning photos low-light conditions, without using a flash.
However, the introduction of a second lens is overdue, as flagship phones from Apple , Huawei and Samsung all already feature more than one rear camera lens.
The Pixel 4 is expected to launch until October 2019 – roughly a month after the anticipated official unveiling of the iPhone 11 in September.
