A strange object has been spotted on a mysterious and uninhabited island in the central Pacific as one online user believes it is a crashed UFO.
A video emerging on popular social media platform TikTok has showed a video of a sandy island "in the middle of nowhere" on Google Earth.
But, zooming in closer, the video shared by user GoogleMapsFun, showed something more bizarre on Starbuck Island in Kiribati.
In the video, liked by over 20,000 people, the user said: "I wanted to explore the oceans on Google Earth, until I noticed something creepy.
"This sandy island was in the middle of nowhere. I started exploring, when I noticed something strange. What could this be? Why is this on an abandoned island?

"It was really weird to see it, until I found the answer. Could this be an UFO crash?"
The video is seen to zoom in on the inhabited island via Google Earth until it reaches a random object, but it is not clear just exactly what it could be.
The user's suggestion the strange object was a UFO crash sparked a stream of comments on the video that has been viewed over 600,000 times.
However some users were quick to offer their insight into what the strange sighting could be, with many debunking the idea that it is a crashed UFO sighting.
One person said: "It's part of a wrecked ship from the 1800s. The tide has dragged it across the sand bank through the decades."
Another wrote: "Loads of ships were wrecked on that island in the 19th century."
A third suggested: "It's a leftover building from Guano collection in the 19th Century. It's named Starbuck after the captain who discovered it."
Some viewers were stunned to find out the island was called "Starbuck island" as many found humour in the name joking it was a Starbucks Coffee location.
It is not the first time the object has been spotted on the island though, with it making an appearance on many social media platforms over the years, all asking the same question - is it a crashed UFO?
