Melbourne premiership coach Simon Goodwin has signed a two-year contract extension that keeps him at the AFL club until at least the end of 2024.
The Demons announced the deal on Thursday, two days after Goodwin came out of isolation after a bout of COVID-19.
Goodwin, 45, has coached Melbourne since 2017 and last year led them to their first flag in 57 seasons.
"I'm very excited to be a part of this footy club and very honoured as well," Goodwin said.
"It's a great privilege ... to be able to commit for another couple of years and be a part of this playing group and this footy department is very exciting.
"We've spent a lot of time building this footy club and this program and now's the time to really try to maximise and have a really good few years - I'm really looking forward to that."
Goodwin joined the Demons as an assistant to Paul Roos in 2014 and succeeded him under a succession plan.
After leading them to the 2018 preliminary final, Melbourne slumped to second-last the following year and also missed the finals in 2020.
That led to growing speculation about Goodwin's going into last season, but the Demons reorganised their football department and spectacularly rebounded.
They won the minor premiership and stormed back from a deficit early in the third term to demolish the Western Bulldogs in the grand final.
Melbourne are unbeaten this season and are on a 14-game winning streak, the second-best in club history.
