Tributes have poured in following the death of US actor Paul Sorvino, who passed away aged 83.
He was best known for his role in Goodfellas, and fans hailed the actor as the "King" as they shared their heartbreak over his death.
Paul's wife confirmed the sad news and was reportedly by his side when he passed.
She said: "Our hearts are broken, there will never be another Paul Sorvino, he was the love of my life, and one of the greatest performers to ever grace the screen and stage."
The Hollywood star was also hailed by his daughter Mira Sorvino, who said he was "the most wonderful father".
Mira, who won the Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Woody Allen's Mighty Aphrodite, tweeted about her dad: "My father the great Paul Sorvino has passed.
"My heart is rent asunder- a life of love and joy and wisdom with him is over. He was the most wonderful father. I love him so much. I’m sending you love in the stars Dad as you ascend."
Over his five decade-long Hollywood career he starred in almost 50 films, with his most hailed role being in Martin Scorcese's 1990 masterpiece Goodfellas as mobster Paul Cicero.
He proved to be a popular star of the silver screen and many posted their tributes on Twitter, with Paul being described as a "king".
One fan tweeted: "RIP Paul Sorvino absolute king. You will be missed."
Another added: "rip paul sorvino , fly high king"
A third was saddened by another loss from the Goodfellas cast, writing: "First Ray Liotta, now Paul Sorvino . All of the Goodfellas are leaving us. #RIPPaulSorvino "
While a fourth summed up the feeling by many on social media, tweeting: "Paul Sorvino , another one of the greatest actors of our time has passed away. He will not be forgotten. Rest in peace Paul."
