Good Omens is a comedic fantasy series on Amazon Prime based on the 1990 book of the same name written by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.
The story follows an unlikely friendship of an angel, Aziraphale, played by Michael Sheen, and a demon Crowley, played by David Tennant, who band together to try and stop Armageddon.
The second season has been filming in and around Scotland for the last few months as some of the cast and crew were spotted around Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Here is everything we know so far about the upcoming Good Omens Season 2..
Who is cast in Good Omens season two?
Alongside Tennant, 50, and Sheen, 53, reprising their roles as everyone's favourite angel and devil duo - Jon Hamm is also back.
Hamm plays Archangel Gabriel, who is second in command in Heaven after God himself, meaning he plays Aziraphale's boss.
Speaking of Jon's return to the role, co-showrunner Douglas Mackinnon previously said : "Good Omens 2 just would not be the same without the astonishing Jon Hamm as Gabriel, everyone's worst boss.
"I couldn't be happier that Jon has come back to do more Good Omens as the Archangel Gabriel, who is second in command in Heaven.
"He joins us nearly halfway through production, when we have already welcomed to the Good Omens 2 family familiar faces in familiar roles, familiar faces in unfamiliar roles, and unfamiliar faces in unfamiliar roles. We also have an unfamiliar face in a familiar role."
Season 2 has added a number of new names to the cast, including Silent Witness star Liz Carr as Saraqael the angel, alongside Bridgerton's Shelley Conn and Havoc's Quelin Sepulveda.
Showrunner and author Neil Gaimon spoke highly of the cast too: “Some of them are reprising roles, some of them are playing completely new characters. And we are just as thrilled by the people coming to the Good Omens team for the first time.
“We have an ensemble cast of astonishing talent, and seeing what they’re giving us is a daily treat. I can’t wait until the rest of the world gets that treat, too.”
The first season, which starred Jon Hamm, Nick Offerman, Jack Whitehall, Miranda Richardson, Adria Arjona, Michael McKean, Anna Maxwell Martin and Mireille Enos, premiered in May 2019.
Unfortunately, A-listers Benedict Cumberbatch and Frances McDormand will not be returning for season two.
What do we know about the plot?
The new series will kick off a thrilling new adventure for Crowley and Aziraphale, who have just settled down in Soho after saving humanity from the apocalypse.
When a strange messenger arrives with an intriguing mystery, the rare book-dealer and daredevil demon are left with no choice but to embark on yet another world-saving quest.
Gaiman told RadioTimes.com in 2017 that he planned a sequel with Pratchett was "about where the angels actually came from", and that the extra angels in season one, including Jon Hamm's Gabriel, came from those plans.
Gaiman also wrote on his blog : “It’s 31 years since Good Omens was published, which means it’s 32 years since Terry Pratchett and I lay in our respective beds in a Seattle hotel room at a World Fantasy Convention and plotted the sequel. I got to use bits of the sequel in Good Omens — that’s where our angels came from.
"Terry’s not here any longer, but when he was, we had talked about what we wanted to do with Good Omens, and where the story went next. And now, thanks to BBC Studios and Amazon, I get to take it there.”
He added: “I have enlisted some wonderful collaborators, and John Finnemore has come on board to carry the torch with me.
"There are so many questions people have asked about what happened next, and also, what happened before, to our favourite Angel and Demon.
"Here are the answers you’ve been hoping for. We are back in Soho, and all through time and space, solving a mystery, which starts with an angel wandering through Soho, with no memory.”
