Viewers who tuned into Good Morning Britain on Monday were given a warning over potential new covid restrictions.
Covid case numbers in the UK continue to soar, with an estimated one in 30 people infected. This is about 3.5% of the population.
GMB hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls asked Dr Hilary Jones if people should be worried, and whether they can expect covid rules to return.

The TV doctor said: "Whilst I don't think we need mandatory precautions, such as mask-wearing and other lockdowns, what we do need is hand sanitisation to be routine. And I think it's sensible to give people the advice to wear a mask on a crowded tube and so on."
The conversation then turned to summer holidays. Ed asked: "Can we expect other countries to bring back travel restrictions?"
Dr Hilary replied: "Australia has lifted their restrictions, I think Portugal as well. [Other countries] could say 'right, you're gonna need your covid pass, you're gonna need proof of vaccination or recent infection, or you're gonna need a test before you travel'.
"I would say to people who are travelling, look at the foreign travel advice for that country, see if you need a test before you fly, and see if your NHS covid pass works for travel [in the country you're travelling to]."
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6.30am on ITV and the ITV Hub
