Good Morning Britain star left red-faced as he's told off by bosses after blunder

Andi Peters was left embarrassed today on Good Morning Britain after he made a blunder with his live segment.

The presenter has been in Mallorca this week to present his segment, including a brief stint in the Love Island villa, but he returned to the studio on Friday for the end of the £300,000 competition, with lines set to close in a matter of hours.

But he was left red-faced when he made a mistake during the live show today, as bosses stepped in to call him out on air with the help of presenters Ben Shephard and Charlotte Hawkins.

Speaking on the show, he said: "Just imagine having £300,000 in your bank account. One lucky winner will have that!"

He then mistakenly said the competition would close at 2pm, before he was quickly corrected by bosses through Ben and Charlotte, as they looked at the wads of money in front of them that Andi had just handed over to them.

"These two are mesmerised by the money, which is fine, you can hang on to them," he said.

Charlotte then stepped in to confirm lines close at four o'clock and not two as Andi joked back: "Wait I don't mean you can hang onto the money, you can touch the money but give it back to me."

Ben then went to call out Andi's mistake after being informed of it by the show's producers.

He said: "We've just been told to tell you you got one of the details wrong. I think this might be a first. The lines close at four."

"But I said four?" he said, defending himself quickly as he racked his brain to see if he had really made the blunder, before soon realising: "Oh no, I said two ... It was a sense of urgency because you must get your entry in."

The trio then made light of the situation, joking they would need to "fine" Andi, as they took the bundles of money away one by one and handed them out to the rest of the studio as everyone laughed.

It comes after Andi revealed he was banned by ITV bosses from calling cash prizes "life-changing".

ITV have said that prizes of £100,000 or less are not life-changing, with the broadcasting conglomerate fearing that a winner might sue them if their life doesn't change as a result of the cash prize, something Andi finds ridiculous.

"Six years ago, we gave away £1million and they wouldn't let me call the £1m life changing because – this is exactly what the lawyer said – 'if Richard Branson won, it wouldn't change his life,'" he said,

"So we argued back and said 'no, it would change his life, because in that minute he would be a £1m richer. That is life changing'. Wouldn't let us say it. I took this all the way. I went all the way to the top."
