Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid taken aback as Dean Gaffney makes weight claim

Good Morning Britain's Susanna was wowed by Dean Gaffney's appearance on today's show.

The presented fronted Thursday's edition of the ITV news programme alongside Adil Ray. They interviewed the former EastEnders actor as his exit from I'm A Celebrity South Africa was broadcast last night.

Dean said it was a "great honour" to have been invited back to compete to become the first ever Legend. He said: "I think it’s something like 300 people have gone through camp in the last 22 years, and as one of 15 to be asked back was actually a great accolade.”

Dean made a surprise weight admission as he admitted he put on nearly a stone during his short time in the show. He said: "We kept winning, it was brilliant! For me it was an absolute breeze going into camp, I went in there for six, seven days, I ate like a King and it was nice!

“That’s the thing in camp, people do lose weight. When I was in the original camp, with David Gest, rest his soul, I lost two stone and now I’ve put on nearly a stone!”

Susanna hailed Dean's appearance and was in disbelief as he revealed he was a grandad. The 45-year-old said it was "scary" that people think his daughters are actually his grandchildren.

He said: "They think my children are young, they think my granddaughters are my daughters. But yeah, my lovely daughters are 27 this year."

Susanna claimed Dean resembles David Gandy, which prompted the campmate to joke: "David Gandy, I wish, I wish I was a supermodel! Yeah, I have been told that a few times.”
