Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid rolls eyes at Richard Madeley over terrible meat jokes

Susanna Reid was less than impressed with her co-host Richard Madeley after he cracked jokes on Good Morning Britain.

During the ITV show, 52-year-old Susanna was caught rolling her eyes at her fellow presenter, 66, as he reeled off jokes regarding 'mammoth meat'.

The pair of presenters were caught up in a debate as to whether viewers would try the lab-grown meat, which has been created via DNA from the extinct animal and African elephants.

The Daily Star reports that Richard made a number of puns on the topic, which left Susanna looking less than impressed. In his tirade of jokes, Richard teased how ITV viewers consuming the meat could soon grow tusks.

Richard said: "That is mammoth meat. That is predominantly extinct meat. What next? Dodo diners, dinosaur dinners?" with Susanna interjecting: "What that makes me think, if it is just DNA and it's cultivated in a lab, is there anything actually animal about it?

"What I mean by that is, could a vegan eat it because it didn't involve killing animals?"

The comment prompted Richard to respond: "That's a really good question. We will ask [the people in Amsterdam] who did this. Can you eat a mammoth meatball and remain vegan? It's fascinating," before joking: "Or would you grow tusks?"

Susanna then rolled her eyes at the TV star, before flashing an uncomfortable smile at the camera. And it wasn't just the TV host who was baffled by Richard's terrible puns - with viewers taking to social media to complain of his outdated dad jokes.

One wrote: "He also twice made the joke about eating mammoth meatballs and growing tusks. Wasn’t funny the first time and don’t think the people trying to reduce the impact of eating meat has on the planet found it very funny either. Worst presenter."

Others however, genuinely found themselves caught up in the debate. One said: "Sorry but I could never be so desperate to eat meat that I’d eat genetically created mammoth and elephant meatballs. Revolting #gmb #goodmorningbritain."

Another meanwhile, added: "@GMB @richardm56 @susannareid100 where did they find the DNA for those meatballs sounds like something that would of been growing in my student fridge years ago #gmb #happytuesday"

GMB airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
