Susanna Reid hit the ground running on her return to Good Morning Britain, with a message for whoever is chosen as the country's Prime Minister, urging them to come onto the show.
After weeks of campaigning and televised debates, following Boris Johnson's resignation, on Monday afternoon, either Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak will find out that they are the new PM, with Truss the favourite to land the high profile job. The announcement arrives hours afte r Susanna returned to work as GMB host for the first time in close to two months, although she did appear on the ITV breakfast programme as a guest on Friday t o pay tribute to her late BBC Breakfast co-presenter Bill Turnbull.
Voting for who will be the next Prime Minister closed at the end of last week, with the reveal of Johnson's successor due sometime after noon on Monday.

Good Morning Britain hasn't had the best track record with senior Government officials over the past few years. Before Piers Morgan left, there was a lengthy hiatus of any ministers appearing on the show, with that continuing after his dramatic departure, before one was eventually made available for interview again.
Outgoing PM Johnson was even accused of 'hiding in a fridge' to escape questions from a GMB reporter during a public engagement, while viewers say Matt Hancock 'running away' from an interview live on air.
Wasting no time in trying to engage whoever will take Johnson's place at No.10, returning host Susanna extended an invite to Truss and Sunak in the early part of her first show back. Telling viewers when they could expect the announcement to be made, she added: "I would extend an interview yo whoever is the new Prime Minister to come on Good Morning Britain and do an interview with us, so you can explain to our viewers what you will do about these soaring energy costs."
Viewers were quick to react to Susanna's statement, with one taking to Twitter to respond: "Why would any politician choose to go on GMB?" Express the same view, another posted: "Susanna just had six weeks holiday and making demands before the new pm is announced."
