Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid at centre of shake-up as she leaves studio

There was a big change on Monday's Good Morning Britain as main presenter Susanna Reid was nowhere to be seen in the studio, but still played a hugely important role in the show.

Famous for her long standing GMB partnership with Piers Morgan, unlike Piers, who stormed off the programme last year before announcing he'd left, Susanna is still very much an integral part of the ITV programme but on Monday, was close to 1,000 miles away from the hosting desk in London as she hosted the episode live from Poland.

Susanna first broke news of her special mission on Sunday, when she took to Twitter to tell her many followers: "TOMORROW: I am @gmb in Poland with a special interview with Amelia and her mum Lilia. The 7 year old who sang “Let it Go” in the Kyiv bomb shelter has became a symbol of her nation. And I’ll be reporting from the Polish-Ukrainian border live from 6am Monday."

A teaser for Monday's show then aired on ITV and kicking things off on camera, Susanna remarked: "'The most heartbreaking sight here is the kids. They've seen things they shouldn't see.. The centre here is trying to help; their football in the corridors, there's art classes, there's face painting. But frankly the kids shouldn't have had to leave their homes."

Susanna sat down with little Amelia, the girl who was seen the world over as her Frozen video went viral, in a pre-recorded interview. Susanna asked Amelia when she thought she'd be able to go home, to which the youngster told her she hoped it would be when 'Ukraine have their victory..' Staying positive, Amelia's mum Lilia said she hoped 'victory is close and the war will be finished soon.'

Reacting to the interview, one viewer wrote: "Adorable little girl, she's a breath of fresh air., you can see how worried her Mum is but a child's optimism is an amazing thing. Impossible not to be moved by what the people of Ukraine are going through, having to make impossible choices, the daily stress must be exhausting."
