ITV's Good Morning Britain presenter Ranvir Singh has come under fire after a blunder saw her blasted as 'unprofessional'. The presenter and journalist was criticised by viewers after mis gendering singer Sam Smith and eating live on air.
During a segment on the morning show today, February 13, Ranvir and co-host Rob Rinder discussed Sam's controversial but show-stopping Brit Awards outfit with Harri, the designer who created it. As the inspiration behind the inflatable jumpsuit was revealed, Ranvir repeatedly used the wrong pronouns when referring to the non-binary star.
Sam Smith uses the pronouns they and them, however, Ranvir kept calling the 30-year-old singer "he", according to a report by Yorkshire Live. Viewers were angered further when they spotted the presenter eating in-between segments and talking with her mouth full.

Taking to Twitter, viewers said: "@gmb @ranvir didn't you brief correctly about pronouns to be used with Sam Smith?" Another added: "Ranvir, it really isn't hard to use Sam's preferred and correct pronouns ffs." A third said the presenter was 'disrespectful', saying: "Ranvir forgetting to call Sam Smith 'they'."
But it was just the references to Sam Smith that got viewers hot under the collar. One social media user said: "@GMB do we really have to listen to @ranvir01 whilst eating?". Another said: "I'm more annoyed by Ranvir eating between segments (than) talking with food in her mouth. So unprofessional." Someone else joined in: "Ranvir eating on air, not very professional."
