Laura Tobin has come under from fire from some ITV viewers, who have accused her of being 'unnecessarily negative' with a forecast she delivered on Monday's Good Morning Britain, on a day when many Brits were looking forward to basking in sweltering temperatures..
Just as she does on a regular basis on the breakfast programme, meteorologist Laura was on hand to deliver a few updates throughout the three hour live broadcast, as many viewers tuning in at home woke up to bright sunshine. However, while delivering some good news, by explaining that the hot conditions are expected to continue for most parts of the country over the coming days, Laura then took on a more serious tone by saying@: "Scientists have been monitoring all sea temperatures and the thing that is really concerning that was alerted this weekend was that the North Atlantic is seeing temperatures way above average."

She continued: "This is the highest sea temperature we have ever recorded in the North Atlantic and the North Atlantic is where our weather systems happen and develop.
"We are likely to see more power for our storms...we're also seeing an influx of jelly fish around our shores so more heat in the ocean, means more heat in the atmosphere, means more storms for us so this not welcome news."
Not too impressed with Laura's warning, at a time when many people are just excited about having some great weather to enjoy, one GMB viewers took to Twitter to react: "It means summer is approaching and nothing more," with another quipping: "No, Laura says it means the end of the world is approaching....every summer" and a third replying: "Laura, it is called summer enjoy it"
However, there was some support for Laura's cautious and detailed approach to the forecast, with one fan tweeting: "Well done to Laura for speaking up about the harmful effects of global warming, the climate crisis we are all facing needs to be addressed, keep speaking the truth."
