Good Morning Britain Kate Garraway's special moment with Derek leaves fans taken aback

Kate Garraway left her followers taken aback as she shared an insight into her special moment with Derek Draper.

The broadcaster has been caring her husband since he fill critically ill after contracting coronavirus in 2020. Kate hosted Friday's edition of Good Morning Britain and revealed she was planting a tree with Derek's family his weekend to mark World Earth Day.

She has taken to Instagram to share snaps from the day as she said: "Funny how it was just grandad & I for the digging & planting & then suddenly everyone appears when up!!

"Crowning a very special weekend with the Drapers (Aunty Sue & grandma you are here in spirit) by planting a magnolia tree for #earthday. Happy Sunday everyone xxx."

Kate revealed Derek has recently been in hospital and feared he wouldn't recover in time to attend the Elton John gig at the 02 Arena on Monday. The iconic musician spotted them in the crowd and made an incredible gesture as he dedicated his hit song, Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me, to Kate and Derek.

The presenter shared a snap alongside Derek on social media and fans flooded the comment to heap praise on Derek as he continues his road to recovery.

Tom said: "So glad Derek is up and out, brilliant"

Sue added: "Derek looks well good to see"

Gavin commented: "How absolutely wonderful to see a pic of Derek, and looking so well too. Has made my weekend this post "
