Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid slammed Ed Balls for "making things political" before the show went to an ad break on Wednesday.
The presenters were back at the helm of the daytime show to discuss the latest news, events and issues. Susanna told viewers the Church of England is considering alternative ways of referring to God after priests asked to be allowed to use gender-neutral terms instead.
The Church said it would be launching a new project in the spring about whether the pronoun "he" can be changed or not.

Any potential changes would alter centuries' old tradition, and would have to be approved by synod, the Church's decision-making body.
The discussion later turned to same sex marriage, as two guests joined the show. Anglican priest Charlie Bell told the hosts he very much wants to marry his male partner in a church.
However evangelical pastor Graham Nicholls said he believes sex outside of Christian marriage is a sin, and that a Christian marriage can only be between a man and a woman.
Ed later told Susanna a family member had only come out as gay in his 60s and said it was a "tragedy" that he couldn't have been married in a church. Susanna referred to same-sex marriage in the UK as "one of the enduring legacies of David Cameron's government".
She added: "He brought that in, same-sex marriage". Ed, a former Labour MP, quickly interjected with: "With cross-party support. He couldn't have done it just with his majority".
Susanna hit back: "You had to make it political", while Ed explained change "sometimes happens" across the parties, before the programme quickly turned to a brief weather update and an ad break.
