Richard Madeley made his long-awaited return to his Good Morning Britain hosting duties on Tuesday morning.
The 66-year-old TV presenter was welcomed back to the panel by co-host Susanna Reid as he explained what he's been up to since viewers saw him last in early September.
As Richard appeared on the ITV programme alongside Susanna, he explained that he'd been kept busy and 'up to his eyeballs' since he last appeared on Good Morning Britain - and it's all thanks to his novel.
The TV presenter has been prioritising his time, making sure that his latest novel meets it's publishing deadline as he keeps his head down and spends his days days writing at home.
After Richard explained his absence from Good Morning Britain after almost a month away from hosting duties, ITV viewers flocked to Twitter to react to his return - with some rejoicing at his comeback, while others weren't so pleased to see him back in action.
One unimpressed viewer tweeted: "Such a disappointment that Richard Madeley is back on GMB. He adds no value. Switching over."
"RICHARD MADELEY ON GMB! GET OFF MY TV," another fumed.
A third complained: "Why do they bring in Richard to host when Ranvir is just standing there? Such a waste of a presenter."
Elsewhere another Good Morning Britain fan penned: "Great to see Richard back."
"Awh I love Richard and his little stories! Hope he stays forever," someone else gushed.
"YAY Richard is back on GMB! Have missed him," another echoed.
Richard's GMB comeback comes after his daughter Chloe recently revealed that her dear dad was busy hosting Good Morning Britain while she was undergoing an emergency caesarean section ahead of the birth of her baby daughter in August.
Proud mum Chloe, 35, and sports star husband James Haskell became proud parents to their baby girl, Bodhi Rae Georgia, on August 10.
In a recent interview with OK! magazine, Chloe revealed that while she was undergoing the emergency caesarean, her famous dad was busy hosting Good Morning Britain - but he was being kept up-to-date on his daughter's health at all times.
The presenter, 66, revealed he was getting texts and updates all the way through the programme.
Richard said he was telling his co-host Charlotte Hawkins: "It's all kicking off' and later sought comfort as Chloe was wheeled off for emergency surgery."
Following the stressful birth of her first baby, Chloe and James are basking in parenthood while staying with Chloe's parents, Richard and Judy - something which the new mum describes as a 'blessing'.
Sharing some insight into their living situation, Chloe explained that her dad has been a massive help when it comes to looking after baby Bodhi, with star star even describing her famous dad as a 'baby whisperer'.
"Dad’s been scooping Bodhi up and taking her upstairs in the mornings to my mum so she can have an hour-long cuddle, just them two, which I think is the sweetest thing in the world,” Chloe told.
"They’re really besotted and I’m so grateful we’re staying with my parents during this time, it’s just been so lovely. As soon as he starts talking to Bodhi, she just settles like an absolute dream. He’s like the baby whisperer," she added.
Good Morning Britain continues tomorrow at 6AM on ITV1.
