Fans of Good Morning Britain were outraged during one segment today.
Ed Balls and Ranvir Singh welcomed two guests on to discuss plans to ban Mr Whippy ice cream vans. It comes after there have been calls to stop the vans being able to sell at festivals and parks due to the carbon emissions they produce.
The popular vans need their diesel engines running to keep the ice cream chilled. And with the recent freak weather, with temperatures reaching as high as 40C in England, people are beginning to be more mindful of climate change.

Aufa Hagan, a journalist who appeared on the ITV show, said: "The effects of the carbon dioxide that comes from the diesel on ice cream vans is part of the reason of climate change and where we are now. There are lots of reasons as to where we are now and emissions is one of them.
"Everybody has to do their part. Of course I'm not saying I want to take away anyone's livelihood, it's not about that at all. It's about everybody doing their part."
She warned that if nothing changes then the nation will see more freak weather and higher amounts of heatwaves. But Katy Alston, president of the Ice Cream Alliance said that it is currently simply too expensive to change over to more eco-friendly vans, although those in the trade are willing to do all they can to tackle the issue.
But people watching from home were perplexed over it and took to Twitter to share their thoughts. Ian said: "People just want an ice cream. Banning Mr Whippy from making a living is crazy when the planet will be here long after we’re all gone. #gmb."
Another user said: "The carbon releases by an ice cream van in a year is less than you going to and from work in a year. #gmb." TM said: "So it’s ice cream vans that are going to kill us all Jesus wept why do they report on this garbage? I doubt a fridge in a van is melting the polar ice caps #gmb."
Meanwhile, Christopher said: "#edballs #gmb The government should give ice cream vans a pass the same as show vehicles as there are not that many. Their environmental impact is minuscule and we risk loosing another piece of our heritage. We all remember the sound of Mr Whippy as kids it is the happy sound."
