Fans of Good Morning Britain were unhappy with presenter Richard Madeley this morning.
The host appeared alongside Kate Garraway as they took the helm of the morning talk show together. They welcomed on guest Chris Ellison and his wife Anita, via video link, as they spoke about his battle with Aphasia after suffering a stroke in 2020.
The 75-year-old actor is best known for his role as DCI Frank Burnside in the ITV police series The Bill, but has now lost the ability to speak since being diagnosed with Aphasia. It is a degenerative brain disorder which affects one's ability to understand language.

Dr Hilary appeared on the show to talk about how music therapy, such as singing, can help with speech issues. Anita added that Chris was having singing lessons before suffering from his stroke and he now continues with them to help bring his voice back. As Anita was telling the story of how Chris' 92-year-old music teacher helped to encourage him, Richard started to interrupt her. He repeatedly said: "So Anita..."
She eventually stopped talking mid sentence as Richard scrambled for an excuse. He said: "I'm sorry it's these blooming live links. We talk over each other a bit and it's unavoidable." He went straight into another question as Anita said: "Sorry." Richard replied: "No, I'm sorry" before continuing with his questions.
Fans on Twitter bashed the presenter for his 'rude' interview skills. Andy said: "# gmb Madeley uses the excuses of his interruptions on ‘ live- links’ which is rubbish. Surely he should be professional enough to allow for a time delay. Silly man." Meanwhile, Scott said: "It's nothing to do with the delay Richard. You're just incredibly rude and you have absolutely no interest in listening to the answers to the questions you've asked #GMB"
Martinio said: "Richard Madeley blaming ‘live links’ for butting in. They’re in East Sussex, Richard, not Mars!! #GMB" Amanda added: "No it's rude don't blame live links #GMB"
