Since TikTok exploded onto the social media scene a few years ago, it has been difficult to escape it. With over one billion users worldwide, people from all walks of life have uploaded videos to the app, and many have subsequently had their lives changed.
The app has furthered the careers of musicians, united people across the world during the pandemic, and has launched its own brand of celebrity content creators and influencers. One of the many social media stars TikTok has churned out is 25-year-old Holly H, who is the UK's most popular TikTok creator.
Holly was no stranger to video-sharing social media platforms when she joined TikTok - the Guernsey native first garnered a following on Vine, a now-defunct platform which allowed users to share six second long videos with their followers, back in 2015. Now boasting a whopping 16 million followers, Holly Hubert has earned nearly 400 million likes across her videos on TikTok, which usually involve her dancing and lip-syncing.

The social media star appeared on Good Morning Britain earlier this morning (April 7) to talk about her journey to success. Speaking to presenters Kate Garraway and Adil Ray, Holly revealed that she never planned on having a career on social media, and actually wanted to be a dancer or work in the media.
Kate asked Holly: "Why do people come to you, first of all? Do you know what the secret is? Because that's what everybody watching wants to know."
According to Holly, the route to social media success is all about genuineness. She said: "I don’t. I think if I could give a tip of some sort, it would be to just be yourself, and it sounds corny or cheesy in some way because that’s the bit of advice people give, but I think people want uniqueness because social media is full of copies these days."
When Holly first started making videos on social media, she did not have a strategy, but had prior experience. She told the Good Morning Britain presenters: "I mean, I started on Vine. I don't know if you know the Vine app, that was a long time ago now in the social media world.
"As things developed, I see what people like and try and work with that but also just stay doing what I like to do because I find that with social media you end up, a lot of the time, going towards what other people want you to do and what does well and you don’t necessarily do what you’re enjoying."
Aside from appearing on breakfast television, Holly has enjoyed some amazing opportunities since shooting to stardom. The TikTok star has starred in CBBC's Horrible Histories, launched her own podcast, and collaborated with Selena Gomez.
Other celebrities Holly has spent time with since rocketing to stardom include Aitch and Lewis Capaldi. Not only has she racked up a huge following on TikTok, but she also has a staggering 1.3 million followers on Instagram.
