Wayne Rooney has responded to a fan's genius Halloween costume of him. The Manchester United legend was left impressed after the fan recreated his iconic lolly-licking picture from 2003.
Rooney, who played for Everton at the time, was snapped by paparazzi while on holiday in Portugal with wife Coleen. He was caught licking a giant red lollipop as he walked down the street wearing a navy tank top, short shorts and sliders.
Taking the well-known image for inspiration, Alex Williamson got the look spot on as he posted a side by side comparison of the original image and his own take on it on Twitter, along with the caption: "Hallowooney."

Speaking to LadBible, Alex joked: "Rooney was an icon of mine on the pitch and then off the pitch with his fashion."
Aside from the near-30k likes the tweet has received, many fellow footy fans gave him props. One replied: "Attention to detail here is fantastic."
Another commented: "Speechless. Incredible." A third added: "This is peak." And a fourth wrote: "Best Halloween outfit I've seen this year."
