Golf fans fume as Padraig Harrington's final Irish Open round not shown on TV

Padraig Harrington tore it up on the front nine holes during his final round at the Irish Open, but you won't have seen it unless you were at Mount Juliet.

The Dubliner, 50, birdied the first five holes, parred the sixth and seventh and birdied the eighth before another par on the ninth.

The incredible start left Harrington six under through nine, but he double bogeyed the tenth and dropped further shots on the 16th and 18th holes.

None of Harrington's round was shown live on TV as both RTE and Sky Sports' coverage on Sunday didn't start until after 1pm, which infuriated golf fans.

One said: "Padraig Harrington 5 under thru 5 and not a single shot to be seen anywhere. Shambles."

Another commented on a tweet from the DP World Tour highlighting Harrington's start, saying: "And yet we can’t watch it anywhere?"

Someone else replied: "And not one shot shown live on TV."

Harrington carded a final round 69, his lowest of the week, which left him on seven under par for the tournament and a few shots off the leaders.
