Right wing Mark Stone had a goal and an assist in his return to Ottawa, and the Golden Knights defeated the Senators, 5-4, on Thursday at Canadian Tire Centre.
Stone, who played his first 366 games for Ottawa, helped his team build a 5-1 lead in the second stop of a five-game road trip. The Senators answered back with three straight goals to make the Knights sweat nearly the entire third period.
Goaltender Logan Thompson made a career-high 42 saves to extend his team’s winning streak to six games. Left wings Reilly Smith, Chandler Stephenson and William Carrier and defenseman Zach Whitecloud also scored for the Knights.
