Gold medal hero Kellie Harrington is donating her Olympic boxing vest to raise funds for Ukraine.
The kind-hearted Dubliner is auctioning her Olympic vest and one of the gloves she used to win gold at the 73rd Strandja International Tournament in March to support the #United4Ukraine fundraiser in aid of the Irish Red Cross humanitarian.
At the time of writing the winning bid is €110 but the rare mementos are expected to fetch a lot of money, with the auction not closing until March 25.
Harrington has had a busy St Patrick's Day weekend, which has included Grand Marshal duties at the Dublin parade.
She also appeared on The Late Late Show where she showed off her vocal abilities with a stirring rendition of 'Grace'.
It comes after Harrington, 32, revealed her admiration for Ukrainian boxers Oleksandr Usyk, Vasiliy Lomachenko and the Klitschko brothers, who have all taken up arms to repel the Russian invasion of their home country.
The boxing heroes have swapped the ring for the battlefield, as their homeland is relentlessly attacked and bombed by Vladimir Putin’s troops.
Harrington was asked if she had ever met Lomachenko and replied: “I’ve never come across him or met him personally.
“But I’ve admired him because he’s absolutely class, he’s top drawer.
“I think what he’s doing and Usyk and the Klitschko brothers is absolutely brilliant, they’re standing up for their country, it’s absolutely fantastic you know.”
