Gogglebox fans have called for a ban on political segments following last Friday's episode.
The show featured news broadcasts from Boris Johnson's apology for breaking lockdown rules and Rishi Sunak's wife Akshata Murty's controversial tax status. Giles and Mary Killen along with the rest of the cast passed comments on the latest government affairs.
But some viewers believe the show shouldn't focus on politics as much as it currently does.

Another @DonnaDlm71 said: "Even #Gogglebox has gone all politically biased as well. Tiresome. I watch this to escape all that c***.. Disappointing. Might not bother in future."
User @Hyther12 tweeted: "Wish #Gogglebox would stick to normal TV and not follow any political agenda regardless." And @clsyoshimoo said: "Seen far too much politics on this week's #Gogglebox."

"Gives you a real sense of what normal people are thinking, not just about stupid TV shows but about politics, belief, life, all sorts. Always great for a laugh is @C4Gogglebox."
And Jay said: "Why are people moaning about gogglebox talking about politics? This show has always done it. Quit moaning."
Gogglebox has aired news bulletins and broadcasts featuring political topics from its inception. The Siddiqui family are typically the go-to cast members for providing balanced opinions. The late June and Leon Bernicoff were also praised for their responses to political stories.
