Gogglebox star Sid Siddiqui supported as he 'doesn't feel safe'

Gogglebox star Sid Siddiqui has received a raft of support from fans after candidly sharing he "doesn't feel safe".

The Siddiquis have been on Gogglebox since it launched back in 2013. Baasit, Umar and their dad Sid are much-loved by viewers, while third brother Raza also often puts in an appearance. Sid is a retired engineer, who has been married to wife Nasreen for 38 years.

The 75-year-old is not as prolific on social media as other Gogglebox stars, but on Thursday he took to Twitter to share something he had experienced.

He said: "This morning I waited 1 hour 55 mins in a telephone queue at my GP surgery, only to be told there are no appointments left for the day and I should start again tomorrow at 8. I don’t feel safe and protected under NHS anymore".

Responding to his tweet, Jessica said: "I'm sorry, Sid. Thank you for making it public", while Wendy said: "My doctors are in the same city. Sid, if you're registered for online services then check just after midnight when they release the appointments.

"I agree it's getting really bad. Take care xxx".

Bob said: "It is utterly unacceptable and dangerous. Have to feel for the GPs too - massively increased doctor-patient ratios, a shortage of GPs especially in rural areas... it goes on. It wasn't great but wasn't this bad 13 years ago."
